Introduction to Role:
Are you passionate about Medical Affairs in Oncology? Do you have the expertise to make a significant impact in the role of Medical Director for US Oncology Medical Affairs? If so, AstraZeneca could be the perfect fit for you! As a Medical Director, you will play a crucial role within the US Oncology Medical Affairs organization, reporting directly to the Medical Head or Medical Group Lead. Your responsibility will be the execution of medical plans for specific or multiple indications within a specified disease area.
Accountabilities:
In this role, you will support the medical plan by coordinating the development of the iMAP, implementing key projects, and supervising budget spend. You will influence the Field Engagement plan by synthesizing field insights into actionable tactics and modifying plans as vital. You will also complete all MALT directives, support quarterly iMAP reviews at the CMT in collaboration with the Medical Lead, and provide cross-functional coverage by supporting the Medical Lead on the CMT and leading Working Groups (WGs) as appropriate.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Sophisticated Scientific Degree (MBBS, PharmD, PhD, or MD) or equivalent will be considered plus relevant experience.
- 3+ years of Medical Affairs experience
- FDA regulations/ICH guidelines regarding conduct of clinical studies in relevant therapeutic area
- Experience in relationship and partner management (3P’S-Payer, Provider and Patients)
- Project, Budget and relationship management experience
- Experience with Evidence generation and clinical trial methodology
- Business Insight Foundation knowledge
- Financial Management Foundation knowledge
- Matrix team functionality specialist
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Doctorate degree, PharmD (MD or equivalent) with Oncology specialization or PhD in Sciences preferred
- HQ Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- Understanding of the latest technical, regulatory, policy, and real-world evidence-generation dimensions
- Project, Budget and relationship management experience
- Experience delivering country medical affairs plans
